Impacts of Pre-Project Investment Quality of Documents on Project Delivery Efficiencies Final Report - November 2021
Significant levels of schedule delay and cost escalation during the construction of major public and private projects are often the reality in Canada. To assist the industry and project owners to work collaboratively to achieve effective and efficient reductions in schedule delays and cost escalation, a consortium led by the Construction & Design Alliance of Ontario (CDAO) commissioned a comprehensive, three-year study: Impacts of Pre-Project Investment & Quality of Documents on Project Delivery Efficiencies. Concluding in 2021, the study was based on recent and project-specific data and focused on the relationship between project delivery efficiencies and project owners’ investment in upfront pre-planning on design and consulting services.
2014 Procurement Day: Seeking Common Ground: Establishing Best Practices:
More than 100 influential construction, design and buyer professionals came together on October 20, 2014, for the Procurement Day forum. It was a candid discussion of the issues being faced by all sides of the procurement equation. The goal was to seek common ground and identify mutually satisfactory ways to address identified issues.
2013 Procurement Day
Held on October 21, 2013, in King City Ontario, the theme of the Second Annual Procurement Day was ‘Dealing with Risk’ from a broad perspective. The objective and goal of the initiative was to foster and facilitate ongoing discussions with professionals, from all sides of the equation, involved in the public procurement of design and construction services
2012 Procurement Day
The first Provincial Construction Procurement Day was held in King City Ontario on April 16, 2012. Contractors, buyers, designers, consultants, insurers, government and association representatives met to build understanding of the issues they face in the design and construction services procurement process, and to identify mutually satisfactory ways to address those issues.
